Auditions for A Christmas Story

Fauquier Community Theatre is now casting A Christmas Story, the beloved holiday comedy performing December 4–13, 2026.

Directed by Leslie Ann Ross and produced by Don Richardson, the production follows 9-year-old Ralphie Parker as he sets out to get a genuine Red Ryder BB gun for Christmas. His mother, teacher, and even Santa give him the same warning: “You’ll shoot your eye out!”

The stage adaptation includes all the favorite moments from the motion picture: the family’s temperamental furnace, school bully Scut Farkas, the frozen lamppost, the Little Orphan Annie decoder pin, the leg lamp, Ralphie’s fantasy scenarios, and more.

This play steps into Ralphie’s imagination, where everyday moments explode into heroic fantasies and minor mishaps feel like epic disasters. It celebrates the beautifully imperfect family at the heart of the story. The Old Man’s bluster, Mother’s quiet strength, and Ralphie’s wide-eyed determination remind us that the holidays are rarely perfect, but they are always memorable.
