College Scholarships

Fauquier Community Theatre invites college-bound high school seniors with demonstrated abilities in the performing arts to apply for scholarships.

FCT offers financial scholarships for local high school seniors who desire to pursue further education in the theatre arts. With the help of an FCT scholarship, young aspiring actors, actresses, musicians, and theatre technicians are aided in defraying the cost of higher education as they seek to acquire further training.

There were at least two $1,500 scholarships awarded in 2026, paid directly to the recipient's school of choice to cover tuition, books, fees, or room and board. The application deadline for 2026 scholarships was April 1, 2026 — watch this page for the next application cycle.

How Applications Are Evaluated

All applications are reviewed by a committee and scored using a rubric that includes grade point average, interest in a career in theatre, participation in Fauquier Community Theatre activities, other theater experience, short essay questions, letters of recommendation, and more.

Prepare for the Next Application Cycle

Applications for 2026 are closed. The checklist below is provided for planning; check back for the next deadline and application link before submitting.

1. Complete the application form when the next cycle opens.
2. Attach two letters of recommendation from adults (excluding relatives) detailing your special qualifications for this award.
3. Include information on any volunteer activities you have participated in at the Fauquier Community Theatre. Special consideration is given to applicants who have participated in FCT-related events.
4. Include a copy of your high school transcript.

No late or incomplete applications will be considered. After decisions are made by the scholarship committee, chosen recipients must provide, in writing, the college's complete address as well as all information necessary to credit the student's college account.
